Hi Paul, the best sites that were mentioned were Barbarian and Modernista. I can't remember the others. For your information it was in an article entitled "What top creative agencies are doing with their web sites" by Teressa Lezzi.

If you like Modernista, another site worth checking out is www.frojd.se which has a single tier approach to delivering all core messages and information which is a great way to manage the visitor experience.

Interesting article - thanks for sharing. Modernista have really nailed it there - a wonderfully simple idea that pulls all the right levers! The adage piece is not appearing on their site any more... do you know where I will find their discussion elsewhere - or if you could point me in the direction of the sites they covered that would be great.

Employee engagement is crucial for SMEs. It is important to ensure your teams are as motivated and productive as possible as there is less room to carry people who aren't pulling their weight. If you create advocates of your employees in the process, this can only benefit your business.

Think about how much of your PR and Marketing budgets go into trying to inform and influence conversations that are happening with the intent of influencing a sale or further enhancing your brand. Your strategies and initiatives will only be strenghtened and enhanced with your brand being built at a grassroots level by your employees, in the same way that all of that work can be undone by a negative word in the wrong place.

Sounds good in theory, but how relevant is this to SME's?

It's an interesting point that you raise as to the power and momentum built by individuals on social networking sites and companies not partaking in the conversations.

What's even more interesting is when it becomes the 'norm' for companies to partake and engage in these forums, will we start looking at the personal reputation and brand of these individuals starting these gripe / point making groups and forums? Will we question if they are being unprofessional? Would we employ them? Where does truth, credibiity and vaildity lie
